It’s that time again ladies! The vision board parties and New Year’s resolutions are upon us. The last 2 years have tried us all, but a Media Girl is ALWAYS prepared darling! This is why we came up with a list of things every Media Girl needs for 2022.
1. Updated Headshots
You’ve spent a fortune online shopping, so you’ve already got the fit. Go ahead and book the photographer Sis! 2022 is all about growth and your face is your brand. Up-to-date headshots tell everyone that you take your craft seriously, and it’s another excuse to get glammed up.
2. Updated Resume
Last year you understood the assignment and booked new gigs. You spoke on those panels and appeared on those podcasts. Update your resume and sizzle reel to showcase that.
3. Actionable Goals
Goals are nothing without deadlines. When creating your goals, remember to think SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. When you crush those goals; Celebrate! You deserve it.
4. A Networking Plan
The pandemic made us all get a little creative when it came to communicating, and the same goes for networking. Research who you want to connect with and how you’ll go about making it happen. Make sure the relationship is reciprocal and that you provide value in these connections as well.
5. Continuous Education
There’s a reason Black Women are the most educated group in the U.S. because we can’t stop and we won’t stop learning! We know the value of continuous learning be it paid or free. There is ALWAYS something new to learn and plenty of free or discounted courses available via Coursera, Udemy, edX, OpenLearn, etc.
