Congratulations to Zozibini Tunzi! She's the reigning "Miss South Africa Universe 2019" and was crowned last weekend in Atlanta, Georgia as the new "Miss Universe 2019" at Tyler Perry Studios, beating out 92 contestants. Miss South Africa Universe captivated audiences and judges with her beautiful spirit, captivating natural beauty, and intelligence!
Zozi Tunzi spoke about women being leaders and stepping into leadership positions, as well as wanting little girls to see their faces in hers. She took pride in wearing her natural hair, and exuding true beauty and confidence.
Tunzi was born in Tsolo, Eastern Cape to parents Philiswa Nadapu and Lungisa Tunzi, and raised in the nearby village of Sidwadweni. Tunzi is one of three sisters. She later moved to Cape Town, settling in the Gardens suburb, to attend Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in public relations and image management in 2018. In 2017, Tunzi was working as a model and living in East London, Eastern Cape.
Prior to winning Miss South Africa, Tunzi was completing a Bachelor of Technology graduate degree in public relations management at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and worked as a graduate intern in the public relations department of Ogilvy Cape Town.
Miss Universe will reside in NYC and attend a series of events around the world during her reign! Congrats Zozi!
