Atlanta, GA- While fans have been able to watch CoCo Jones blossom as an actress, the singer is showing us that she is more than her Bel-Air character.
With her new EP What I Didn't Tell You releasing today, it's clear that CoCo wanted to bring an honest feel to the R&B genre with relatable tracks for all the situations we may experience.
The EP consists of 7 tracks that give us an inside look into Jones' love life which she uses to magnify her undeniable talent. CoCo released her debut single, "Caliber," which has already gained 3 million views on YouTube and 5 million streams globally. The song also earned her a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2022 BET Soul Train Awards. The EP also features songs for nostalgia like "Doubleback," produced by super producer London On Da Track, and samples SWV's hit single "Rain." There are also songs like "No Chaser," a get ready with me girls' night out the anthem, and her newest hit, "ICU," that projects more of a grown and sexy vibe.
CoCo Jones, who is signed to Def Jam, recently held a private listening party in Atlanta where she talked about what she wanted her music to translate to her fans.
I just want people to never question if I am that girl or not. I know I have such a ways to go to make my real stamp in the music industry but, I am a brand new artist and I want people to be like "Oh, she's going to be here for a while."
The 24-year-old songstress also spoke about how important authenticity is to her in the music she creates and puts out.
If I'm selling you on me, streaming my songs, choosing my records, watch my videos, it has to be because you believe it so I have to be authentic. I just feel like it won't work.
CoCo's EP is just one of many wins for her as she also has been featured on the new BabyFace album "Girls Night Out." Jones and Babyface sing on the track āSimple.ā The single was released on Oct. 28 and the video debuted on Oct. 31. Each song on Babyfaceās āGirls Night Outā album features the music veteran singing with a female guest, including Ari Lennox, Ella Mai, Kehlani, and Baby Tate.
What I Didn't Tell You is CoCo's message of who she is to the world. She states the title comes from her telling her team that the EP is to let people know the things about her that they just had no clue to. "What haven't you told them that they don't know?" was the question that led to the project she is gracing us with today.
CoCo Jones is proving why she is here to stay and never to box a person in with her talents. Check Out "ICU" and What I Didn't Tell You on all streaming platforms.
