CoCo Jones Media Mixer Recap: TROY NABJ Edition

Media Girls Network and Men in Media interns help aid in the production of CoCo Jones media mixer!

Def Jam Recordings, Route Runna, and Media Girls Network presented a media mixer for CoCo Jones’s new single “Caliber” at a private location in Atlanta, Georgia. Media outlets such as FOX 5 Atlanta, HNL, The Source, SHEEN Magazine, bloggers, influencers, etc were all invited to capture this event.

Media Girls Network and Men In Media interns, who are Troy University NABJ chapter, were invited as well. The interns were given roles that included photography, content creation, PR, interviewing, crowd control, and event setup.

“It was a great first experience to help manage this Coco Jones media mixer,” the Troy NABJ President and intern, Alexis Harvey said. “My takeaway from this event was that it’s the little things behind the scenes that are implemented that makes or breaks the success of your event!”

This was their first event in the entertainment industry and they worked hands-on in assisting the Media Girls Network staff with the production of the event.

“Checking people in was important because I saw how people that don’t have access and know they don’t have access really try to still get in, so it was important that I paid attention to separate the attendees from the media and talent,” intern Madison Arnold said. “I can’t wait to work more events like this and eventually put together my own.”

Before the event, the interns received encouraging words from Route Runna CEO, Antwan Williams.

Kardarious Brown, an intern, took heed of those encouraging words from Williams and interviewed Dr. Sergey Voskin, the surgeon for Goals Plastic Surgery to discuss the goals he has to make people feel beautiful on both the inside and outside.

“Beauty is in the mind,” Voskin said.

Throughout the event, the interns also catered to celebrities like ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star Yung Joc, social media entertainer Yung BBQ, ‘Little Women: Atlanta’ Lil Vicious, and more.

A special thanks to Patron for sponsoring the alcoholic beverages and T.A.G. Team Mixologists for providing bartending services. Food was provided by La’s Sweet Treats, DJ XO was on the scene with the sounds, and a 360 photo booth by Snap 360 Studio.
